BASIS:

Previously existing health problems, such as eye discomfort, stress, muscle aches and pains, have become more serious and unfortunately, more routine. Taken singly, office hazards may not seem dramatic. But typically, unhealthy office conditions can create a variety of safety and health problems. The Occupational Safety and health Administration (OSHA) estimates that most of these problems are preventable, if proper safety precautions in offices are initiated. This poses a serious problem for exposed workers and their employer. The OSHA Standards establish uniform requirements to ensure that hazards in U.S. workplaces are evaluated, safety procedures implemented, and that the proper information is transmitted to all affected workers.
