Compressed Gas Safety Training Program Description
Some compressed gases are flammable, toxic or both and all are under pressure, they must be used, handled, and stored with extreme care. An exploding cylinder can have the same destructive effect as a bomb. This poses a serious problem for exposed workers and their employer. The OSHA Compressed Gas Safety Standards establish uniform requirements to ensure that the hazards of compressed gases in U.S. workplaces are evaluated, safety procedures implemented, and that the proper hazard information is transmitted to all affected workers.
This PowerPoint® training course provides the user with the needed training requirements for safe handling of compressed gases, general safety rules for specific types of gases, visual inspection of compressed gas cylinders, general company safety rules for use of compressed gas, compressed gas storage locations, facility/department evaluation and other OSHA and compressed gas association requirements.
