A “Fine” Line

Parkland Memorial Hospital, in Dallas, has recently been fined a whopping $1 million for its shortcomings with occupational safety requirements - which have the tendency of putting not only patients, but health care and other workers as well, at risk. From understaffed nursing services to inadequate infection control measures, the hospital has been fined with the highest amount in the state’s history.
